Often as Christians we get so set in our ways that we miss the many different perspectives to life that God uses. Partly to relay that thought, solo musicians and siblings Phillip and Michael Sandifer took a change in direction and formed the vocal duo SANTA FE and, named their national debut album - Moon Circles.

"Michael and I have always wanted to do something together musically, " comments Phillip. Even when we were kids, we used to pretend we were John and Paul (the Beatles) playing with tennis rackets in front of the mirror. The time seemed right to do the project."

Part of that timing was due to the fact God was teaching them both about perspectives, a reflection that became the constant theme behind the album. "It's really dangerous to think that you have everything figured out because just as soon as you do, God will surprise you, " testifies Phillip. 'if we can learn to see from other perspectives, we will all be wiser and enjoy a more intimate walk with God," adds Michael.

Musically, Moon Circles grooves with a delicate interaction of simple harmonies and lyrical depth textured with the alternative leanings of 90's pop, a change from what listeners are used to from these talented brothers. 'The style of Santa Fe is a bit different from what either Phillip or I do on our own,' comments Michael. "It's kind of a mixture of the many styles from the 60's and 70's that we grew up on combined what what we listen to now. It's really hard to pin down, but if anything, I'd call it heavy acoustic pop," interjects Phillip.

"The album itself is so fulfilling because the songs are such life stories, " adds Phillip. 'Real stories that have real people attached to them. Wider Sky is a song I wrote telling God how all encompassing and humbing it sometimes is for me to try and begin to praise Him. He is so holy and righteous. Where do you start? Wanting the Things That You Get is one of those songs I wish I had written. The first time I heard the line in the chorus [ it's not about getting the things that you want. It's about Wanting the things that you get ], I was moved and convicted to try to change my perspective,"

While both Phillip and Michael will remain active in their respective ministries, they're both excited about the opportunity SANTA FE offers to broadening their music ministry and share the love of God with new people. "This music is accessible to a few more folks," says Phillip, "and therefore introduces us to new people.

The Gospel has become way too complicated by our politics and desire to preserve a specific way of life. For the most part, the only thing preservable is the Truth, the Word of God. I welcome the chance to tell more people that."
